Paradise Point is a work of fiction by Cynthia A. King in the romance genre and is aimed at mature audiences. Paradise Point is a heartfelt exploration of love and rediscovery that follows gothic romance writer Aimee Dunsmore as she tries to return to her life outside the spotlight after successfully ghostwriting the memoir of classic movie star Dolores Reardon. She ends up meeting Mitch. Mitch has been burned before regarding romance, having recently divorced his volatile wife Sandy, but his chemistry with Aimee is undeniable. Before long the two of them are putting themselves on the line to give romance a chance.

Cynthia A. King has an evocative and tender writing style that not only paints a vivid picture of the romantic leads and their feelings but deftly captures the nuances of the relationship as their journey together unfolds. The development of both Aimee and Mitch throughout the story is a joy to read as these two relatable and well-realized characters are at first drawn together then grow together as life's complications are thrown at them. The romance element of Paradise Point is particularly noteworthy as a refreshingly mature and realistic depiction of love between two people with more life experience, one that somehow manages to walk a fine line between romantic fantasy and grounded realism. This is also reflected in the narrative's exploration of themes such as mental illness which is done respectfully and with a great deal of insight, giving the whole book an undercurrent of wonderful wisdom alongside its more playful romantic aspects.
