Pig and the Accidental Oink!: Picture Book Apologetics with James and Ruth by JD Camorlinga is a delightful storybook for children with a good concept. James and Ruth love playing outside and they appreciate all the good things God has created. Many a time they feel small when compared to all the beautiful things around them that God has made. One day while playing, they meet Pig accidentally and he questions their belief. The children go and ask their father about what the Pig tells them. The father explains to James and Ruth about God and the Universe, and the children go and explain it to Pig.
The book is educational and the concept is excellent. The delightful illustrations are lively and they give a good pace and movement to the story and bring the characters to life. It's a perfect bedtime storybook for kids and it can also be used for read aloud sessions in classrooms and school libraries. The practical exercises at the end of the book are enjoyable for readers and can be used for interactive sessions in classrooms and libraries. The book helps readers understand the presence and power of God through logic. Books with a moral/concept/message are always good for children to help them understand ideas more easily when narrated with the help of illustrations and through a story. James, Ruth and Pig are adorable characters and the children get to savor the essence of the beautiful world created by God as the story progresses.
