Imagine a dance studio where there is no teacher, no lesson plan! Playdance Studio is exactly that. The children decide what, when and how they will dance. They take their task seriously and enjoy each session. That is until one day, when there seems to be nothing to dance about. Ready to pack up their flats and call it a day, a rainbow appears, inspiring the children to dance. Taking on the colors of the rainbow, they whirl in a frenzy. Neighborhood children looking in the windows are awed and amazed, wanting to see more. Playdance Studio dancers continue dancing as they wish, no instructor, no lesson plan.

Children will love this magical tale of kids doing what they love, on their own terms, utilizing their own creativity and whimsical nature. I love this book. It is fun, enticing and perfect for a child's imagination. I found myself giggling through the scenes, the colors, the sounds, the dance.

This is a story that can be read at bedtime to those who cannot yet read themselves or by those that choose to cuddle up with a cup of juice and take each sentence one at a time, page by page.

The illustrations are bright, captivating and fun. Each illustration is happy, drawing a grin from the reader.

It is very apparent the author Marianne Quigley Gaulkin (M.S. Education, B.F.A. Dance) is highly qualified and knowledgeable about dance and certainly has a love for children. I cannot wait to read more of her writing!
