In Pretty Maidens All in a Row, debut author J.M. Brown introduces quite a cast of characters. We follow young Mary Elizabeth 'Beth' Grange as she is unknowingly being stalked by a diabolical and deranged man who has become totally obsessed with her. His desires culminate in an act that completely shatters Beth and changes her for life. As an adult, after she's moved far from her home town, Beth has finally found some semblance of peace, and possibly even love - she starts to receive flowers from an anonymous admirer at the same time that a serial killer has been murdering young women who look a great deal like she does. Beth's fears for her safety, for her very life, return and with good reason.

Pretty Maidens All in a Row is an excellent read from a first time novelist. Full of thrills and chills, dark and twisty, just how I like a great suspenseful mystery. This book is incredibly hard to put down once you've started it; it really hooks you in and keeps you reading. Author J.M. Brown has done a great job in creating characters that are intriguing and realistic. The reader will feel real sympathy for Beth and will hope for the best for her. Any reader who enjoys mysteries, thrillers, suspenseful reads or action and adventure will like this book. I recommend Pretty Maidens All in a Row and am looking forward to seeing what author J.M. Brown has in store for readers next.
