Project Thirteen by Liam Higham is a science-fiction novel that will appeal to fans of horror stories with multi-dimensional characters. The story follows Project Thirteen, a girl transformed by an experiment. Enhanced with extraordinary abilities, people in influential circles want to own her. Coveted and sought by many, the Byzantium Order is the one who catches her. Eventually, she escapes from the Byzantium Order and crash-lands on earth. But her enemies and those who want access to her abilities will stop at nothing to capture her. While on earth, she has to adapt to the environment, learn to hide, and survive. What happens when she chooses to use her abilities? If death and carnage follow in her wake, who will survive?

Project Thirteen by Liam Higham is a clever science-fiction novel featuring intense action and intelligent dialogue. The characters are exceptionally developed. At the start, the narrative introduces the enigmatic, paranoid, and self-conscious dictator, Rashmir Fendel. With no moral compass, his desire for domination and control makes him a dangerous antagonist. His deep-seated paranoia even affects his movements in his heavily protected castle. The elements of this science fiction novel are brilliantly imagined and executed with skill and finesse. The conclusion is shocking and leaves the reader reeling. The stunning story closes with the message that perhaps the monsters we create do come back to haunt us.
