Raptor Ray by Brent Reilly is an incredible science fiction thriller. Ray has dino blood running through his veins, the product of a genetic scientist who desperately wanted to give birth to a dinosaur but loses her life in the process. Raised by Wilda, a non-scientist, Ray has a wild and adventurous life ahead of him. The scientists who engineered him are no longer interested once he is born and he seeks the arms of his grandparents as he grows – and grows, meeting mad scientists, zombie babies, drug lords sex-bots, hug whores and much, much more along the way. Ray finds himself in trouble on more than one occasion, leaving his grandfather to come to the rescue.
Raptor Ray by Brent Reilly truly is an incredible tale. It is written with confidence and covers so many different genres that it’s hard to know how to classify it. It has everything – humor, horror, sci-fi, adventure, you name it, it’s there. It really isn’t a story for kids; there are too many gruesome scenes in it, including the very start of the story, and plenty of explicit language and sexual scenes too. Adults who love something very different will enjoy this, though. However, you must be prepared; there are a lot of characters in this story, each developed very well, and there is a lot of action. The book races along at a breakneck pace, twisting and turning all the way. This truly is an epic story – some readers will get it, some won’t, but I guarantee that the adventure alone is well worth the read.
