Vincent M. Wales was raised in the small town of Brockway, Pennsylvania, where he frequently complained about the weather. Since then, he has worn many hats, including writing instructor, suicide prevention crisis counselor, essayist, Big Brother, freethought activist, wannabe rock star, and award-winning novelist.
He spends most of his writing time in coffee shops, since his cats fail to grasp the entire concept of “writing time.”
He currently lives in Sacramento, California, where he frequently complains about the weather.

Reckoning: The Many Deaths of Dynamistress (Book One) by Dinah Geof-Craigs / Vincent M. Wales is the first in a trilogy about a metahuman who is known as Dynamistress. There have long since been disagreements on metahumans and when they started to appear. Some would say that they have always been among people while the scientific community says they have only been around since the '40s: which is right? Young Dinah wanted to be one of them, to have fame and be on the cover of Supers. When she did not get what she wanted at puberty, she took things into her own hands.
Superheroes and a memoir all wrapped into one - I have to say the moment I saw that I was curious about this book and wanted to read it. I am glad that I did! For me things did start off a little slow; however, after the first few chapters the pace picked up and I really sank my teeth into the contents of the book. For me, the story was as much about becoming a superhero as it was coming of age, going through trials and overall being a flawed being, whether normal human or metahuman. The writing is very good and once into the book it flows very well. I think Vincent M. Wales has found a new way to give us a great look at superheroes and I for one can’t wait for the next instalment of the series. I would recommend this book and eagerly await the next one.
