Reluctant Hearts by Linda Griffin is a collection of contemporary romance stories. The author has written four stories and tells a tale of how the characters in each story find love, happiness, peace, understanding, acceptance, and the will to carry on with life even if it has given them a bad deal, made them feel they are on the losing end, and they don’t seem to be able to climb out of the hole that life has thrown them into. The main characters are Darien and Richard; Shane and Beth; David and Kate; and Frank and Kayla in a heart-warming collection of second-chance romance tales.
The author catches the reader's attention from the very first pages of each story so that you find yourself wanting more ... and you keep reading. The main characters take the reader through their short stories filled with ups and downs and troubles with such gentle nudging and tender care that the reader sighs in frustration when the story comes to an end. Readers will want to know more as author Linda Griffin ends each story in a most unusual way. Linda has paired the most unusual characters in each of the stories which show life at its worst and then again at its best. The twist in each tale leaves the reader gasping and wanting more. Reluctant Hearts is a most delightful collection of light romances and will be read again and again as it makes one realize that there is still romance in the world. The stories get you thinking and I really enjoyed them. Well worth the time spent reading.
