Return to Summer is the fourth and final installment in the Seasons of Summer series, written by Melissa Baldwin. Summer Peters is completely and utterly in love. Devoted to Alexander Williams, regardless of all of the obstacles thrown their way over the past year, Summer finds a strength and confidence within herself she never thought possible. The only problem is that Alexander’s personal assistant, Melanie, continues to stop at nothing to demolish what the two lovebirds share, for no other reason than wanting Alexander all to herself. Lies and manipulation charge full steam ahead with no holds barred, and finally Summer reaches her limit in patience for both Alexander and Melanie, as friends suddenly become foes. Willing to risk her future with Alexander, she delivers an ultimatum before ending up back in Florida where it all began.
What an absolutely gut-wrenching, emotional tornado of a love story! Melissa Baldwin’s ending to the Seasons of Summer series completely pulled at my heartstrings, tore at my emotions and twisted me in more directions than I ever dreamed imaginable. Although the love affair between Alexander and Summer was a tumultuous, yet passionate and steamy one, the two truly are a match made in heaven. Melanie’s constant interference from the first page of the first book was an annoyance which oddly also piqued my interest and thrust my focus into Summer Peters’ life so completely. With each exciting new chapter, I was transported into a world where anything is not only possible, but also where the impossible is both the reader’s worst fears and wildest hopes and dreams alike. I tip my hat to Melissa Baldwin and her incredible array of well-rounded characters in one of the most extraordinary tales I have read to date. I enjoyed reading Return to Summer and wholeheartedly recommend it to readers over the age of 15 years who are not afraid to set foot inside a world which carries a love so perfect, yet so completely insane.
