Road Trip Home (A Bahá'í Vision of Hope) by Steven E. Ellis is an inspirational novel that would appeal most to a mixed audience of adults and young adults interested in tales of hope, religion, and spirituality. Rose is an eighty-three-year-old Alaskan Native who has been on a lifelong mission since a village elder received a vision when she was a child. The vision told that she would be gifted with a profound spiritual truth; since then Rose has worked to share this truth with those around her, yet she is left feeling unsuccessful in her endeavor to do so. When Rose meets Grayson, she finally finds the opportunity to fulfill her lifelong mission. Will Rose succeed in her mission or will it end in failure once again?
Road Trip Home (A Bahá'í Vision of Hope) by Steven E. Ellis was a truly beautiful book to read as it shared feelings of both hope and spirituality with me as I read it. I felt inspired by Rose’s ability to continue with her mission, even when she felt as if she was failing at it; the strength of character she displays in her ability to persevere is truly something amazing. This is just one of those books that, when you read it, you end up gaining a more positive outlook on both yourself and the world. This book reminded me that even among all the bad things in the world, there are still things to find beautiful and inspirational. I truly hope the author decides to continue writing in the inspirational fiction genre!
