SantACHOO by Carli Valentine is a delightfully unusual take on what transpires the night before Santa has to be ready to deliver presents to the children of the world. The storytelling keeps your interest all the way through, while the illustrations created by the author are charmingly convincing as real characters that possess a lot of heart and soul. Although the illustrations aren’t all that detailed, it’s the eyes and mouth that convey the anxiety over what is going to happen if Santa is sick.

Carli Valentine’s SantACHOOo captured a part of my heart. In a few pages, it showed the importance of teamwork and pulling together to give Santa the time off that he needed to rest. It’s not often considered, but Santa does get taken for granted, as he’s always expected to just be there on time. The book turned a magic man into more of a mortal man. When you combine that with a story about elves and reindeer, with Mrs. Claus rallying around the big jolly guy in red, it touched me in a way that I wasn’t expecting. This is the perfect book to go under the Christmas tree. It’s also a great tool to use in daycares or schools that might want to teach aspects of teamwork and sharing responsibilities. You don’t want to miss out as it’s one of the best holiday books out there.
