For readers who like their romance spiced with suspense and danger, Lori Foster's third book in The Men Who Face Horror series will captivate their interest. Jackson is a mercenary who works with Trace and Dare. He has a thing for Trace's younger sister, Alani, who was kidnapped and forced into a human trafficking ring. After Alani's successful rescue, she falls in love with Jackson, who has been wanting to "get together" with her for some time now. Only thing is, he doesn't remember their first encounter because he was drugged.

Most of the book involves vivid sexual scenes and daydreaming about more such scenes. In between the lust, there are themes of danger, intrigue and setting things right in the world. Alani cannot seem to figure out if she wants to be protected by Jackson or swallowed whole by him; she initially takes a passive-aggressive approach and then, eventually presents a strong enough character to endear herself to most readers. As for the men, there is enough testosterone among the three that they seem to have a lifetime supply for an entire army!

I was a bit disappointed that the "who is out to get us" theme was not more extensively developed. It surfaces at the end, and although it makes sense to the reader, the story could have been enhanced by greater interaction between the good guys and the villains throughout the book. Still, the characters are well developed, and there is enough romance in this novel for even hardened romanticists. Lori Foster has given the reader a good tale and one which promises to continue in her next novel.
