Secrets of a Lady by Laura Beers is the first in the Lords and Ladies of Mayfair series. it is a delightful story filled with surprising twists and unforeseen mysteries around every corner! When Miss Lizette returns from boarding school after hearing of her mother's sudden death, she is unsure where to turn for help. What is she to do now that she's alone in the world? When a man named Mr. Westcott shows up, claiming to know her grandfather, Lizette is reluctant to believe him. But after she receives a clue and an offer that could solve her dilemma, she finds herself with more questions than answers, and the attractive and intriguing Mr. Westcott has her all the more determined to seek the truth. Will they be able to work together to discover the truth?
From the start, I quickly fell in love with Miss Lizette and Mr. Westcott. I adored their dynamic in the story and loved seeing their friendship bloom! Secrets of a Lady by Laura Beers is a wonderful read, filled with family secrets and Regency splendor. As the story unfolds, we learn that some secrets are life-changing. Laura Beers brings the fun of Regency romance to life in the rich details, atmospheric settings, and intrigue of the Regency period, told alongside a cast of unforgettable characters. I loved reading Lizette's story and quickly found that I had a burning desire to discover what secrets her family kept. I could not put this book down. You won't want to miss this series.
