Brigid would do anything to find her missing sister, including securing a job at Meridian Station as PR, a position her sister held before she mysteriously disappeared, and the last place she was seen. Meridian Station is secluded and famous for breeding and exhibitions of druadans: historical and rare genetically modified horses. As Brigid combs through clues to find the truth about her sister, she is surrounded by three hot Master riders: Heath, Carter, and Logan. No matter how handsome these men are, she must remain focused because Meridian Station hides deception, desire, and danger. Amelia Cole’s Shadowbound (Druadan Legacy) is a riveting fusion of dystopia, science fiction, and romance that captivates from the first page.
Phew! This book is intense. The sexual tension between Brigid and the riders was so taut that one misstep or a lingering touch could turn the narrative into mindless smut. Keeping things steamy without losing the plot, Amelia Cole does a great job of maintaining a perfect balance between suspense and romance. The author’s writing is descriptive and immersive, and her world-building is superb. Shadowbound is set several years in the future. Continents are breaking and splitting, the air is severely polluted, and the world is controlled by the Circuit. The riders are lucky to be bonded with Druadan, which awards them celebrity status and exempts them from working at filtration plants earning peanuts. I just cannot wait for the next installment in Druadan Legacy. Fans of romance, suspense, and horse enthusiasts will find this book irresistible.
