When thirty-four-year-old Liam Treadwell arrives in Venice, he is eager to explore the city and enjoy a promising vacation. However, his plans are cut short as he is attacked and robbed on his first night there. After three days in a Venetian hospital, Liam is determined to continue with his vacation. He boards a cruise ship bound for destinations along the Adriatic Sea. But while at sea, left with fragmented memories after the attack, he begins to experience visions he cannot understand. As he tours different places on his voyage and meets new people, his visions lead him to something he never anticipated, but for which he will forever be grateful. What could this be? Find out in Glenn Blekicki’s Shadows Within the Storm.

Lovers of slow-burn adventure blended with mystery will find Glenn Blekicki’s Shadows Within the Storm an enthralling read. Running a thin line between imagination and reality, Blekicki took me on a scenic ride across southern Europe. The vivid depictions uniquely captured the mood and setting of the scenes. It felt like I was next to the characters in every scene, experiencing the beauty of the destinations they visited. I could not help but marvel at the bustling medieval gem, Dubrovnik. The subtle tone accompanying the narration kept me turning page after page, eager to discover what was coming next. The depictions of the characters' emotions and the juxtaposition of their traits allowed me to connect with them. There is fate, destiny, culture, European cuisine, redemption, love, connection, and more in this story.
