Abby Anderson has had a rough year. Her belly dance studio is barely hanging in there, her ex dumped her for her dedication to the dance studio and she hasn’t had sex since he left. But the stress of her life is getting to Abby and she decides there’s just one cure: a night of hot anonymous sex. That is how Shimmy for Me begins and it only gets better. As her stage persona Zenina, she spots Derek Collier in the audience and knows he’s her anonymous man for the night. The next day she meets Derek again, when he’s announced as her new boss! DeAnna Cameron does a great job setting this story up. The anticipation is there from the moment Derek and Abby connect, leaving you anxious and delighted at how things play out.

Shimmy for Me is a fun read with a lot of heart. Abby shows up for work the day after her night of hot sex and find that her temporary position is a thing of the past. If she wants to keep her studio, she’ll have to become the executive assistant to Derek. Luckily Zenina and Abby bear no resemblance to one another. DeAnna Cameron has packed this story without feeling too jammed. The characters are well developed, giving just enough background to feel connected without overwhelming the reader. I loved the anticipation of Abby working for Derek, wondering if and when he would finally recognize her. It was cringe-worthy in the best possible way! The story played out quickly but Shimmy for Me was the perfect length and a satisfying read.
