Shy Froggie: The Big Adventure by Timothy and Gabriella Brower is a short children’s story about a young frog who is shy and afraid of the pond. Froggie loves spending time with his mother and helping her around the house. His mother asks him to go collect some blueberries from the bushes on the opposite side of the pond, even though she knows he is afraid. Froggie loves fresh blueberry pie but is still afraid of venturing out on his own. What if a sly fox or mean wolf comes near the pond? What if the pond animals do not want him hopping along on the lily pads? Will he be safe if he goes across the pond on his own? What if one of the animals talks to him? What should Froggie do?
Shy Froggie: The Big Adventure written by Timothy and Gabriella Brower is an absolutely adorable children’s story that is packed with some important life lessons. I love how the characters in the story are so quick to understand Froggie and his shyness, and how Froggie’s mother encourages him to try new things. The pictures in Shy Froggie are bright and beautiful as they help tell the story through images. I recommend it to anyone with young children who need encouragement to face their fears, try new things, and meet new people. I love how relatable the story of Froggie is for young children. I look forward to many more stories like Shy Froggie that will help nurture the minds of children as they go through the young and awkward stages of life.
