Signed, Trevalon by Elaine Wigfall is the turbulent love story of Lori Davenport and Kelvon Trevalon. Upon their meeting, Kelvon is a rising hip-hop star, while Lori is a devoted student working toward completing her degree. She sees signs of Kelvon's inattention from the beginning, such as his constantly canceling dates with her, inviting her out of town then leaving her alone in the room, and his disrespectful demeanor toward her parents. Despite warnings from her friends, Lori persists in her relationship with Kelvon. When she unexpectedly falls pregnant, they have a shotgun wedding. Her family cuts ties with Lori but is later willing to welcome her back into their life. The tumultuous relationship continues and spirals out of control, especially when Trevalon becomes a widely recognized name in the music industry. How many dramas must unfold before Lori wakes up and reclaims her life?

Signed, Trevalon by Elaine Wigfall is an entertaining romantic story that captured my attention from the start. The plot was highly relatable, following a beautiful young woman with great potential falling hopelessly in love despite the blatant flaws in her partner. Most people know of at least one person with the same story, and this familiarity with the storyline attracts you to read more and discover how this one will end. I enjoyed the dialogue and how Wigfall tailored it to each person’s personality, using slang terms throughout. This made it entertaining and brought the characters to life, so you could vividly envision the nature of each one. The story is well-written and engaging, and I enjoyed reading it.
