Simon Sucks His Toes by Alyssa Stiles is part of the Choose Your Own Path: Oral Habit Series. Simon is a three-toed sloth. His toe-sucking habit is not only painful but also makes it difficult for him to do the things he enjoys. Set up as a 'choose your path,' the story can have multiple endings. If Simon chooses to stop sucking his toes, he will need a plan to help him stop. If he chooses not to stop sucking his toes, he will meet with a habit coach who will help him see why sucking his toes is not a good idea. Stiles has included a helpful parent note at the beginning of the book. There are also pages for kids to fill in at the end with their plans and some fun activities.

Simon Sucks His Toes is a useful and fun book for both kids and parents who are dealing with a digit-sucking habit. Alyssa Stiles is an expert in the field and has created a story that allows kids the opportunity to choose the path they want to take while also providing them with a gentle nudge in the right direction. The illustrations of Simon and his family by Rebecca Jones and llham Maulana are colorful and kid-friendly. Stiles has done a stellar job crafting a story that gives kids control over the outcome so that when they decide to quit the habit, they are fully invested in it. This book will be welcomed by parents who want to help their children develop good oral habits.
