Sins and Scarlet Lace by Liliana Hart is an exciting romance full of intrigue and lust. After a life threatening injury while working for the government, Declan MacKenzie breaks Sophia’s heart and throws her out of his life. Sophia marries a man known to Declan. When her husband is killed and branded a traitor and Sophia is contained by Homeland Security as a possible traitor to the United States, the only person she knows to call is Declan. Anger at Declan and for the past is almost more than Sophia can deal with, but Declan has never forgotten her and he is determined to protect her and get to the truth. The question is, will she allow Declan to get into her heart again?
With Sins and Scarlet Lace, Liliana Hart creates a story of lovers reunited and overcoming the obstacles of the past. It is fast paced with just the right amount of steamy sex and conflict between the main characters, with a hint of military and covert operations. The lovers have to work together to solve the case against Sophia and in doing so will have to communicate about the past as well as any possible future.
Liliana Hart weaves a seamless tale and makes me want to read the other MacKenzie novels. Alluding to the large MacKenzie family and siblings makes you want to continue getting to know the whole family. Liliana Hart’s writing style makes the idea a welcome one. I cannot wait to start the next one.
