The story in Space Trippers is a new refreshing Sci-Fi tale. Book one, "Trippin’", takes us through the life of Doctor Velasquez, a scientific engineer banished from her world because she didn`t fit in. She left to study at the university when her people wanted her to become a warrior, like everyone else on her planet. To appease her people, she created a machine that peacefully gets rid of their enemies. Instead of being welcomed home, she is given a deatrh sentence because of the machine she created.

After running for many years, she brings a sketch of her science spacecraft to a planet where she finds help to build it. Almost four weeks before it is ready for the maiden voyage, the ship goes into space. The doctor is furious because she is kidnapped, along with her ship. Many things go wrong and the new captain blames the innocent doctor. The captain demands that she get things fixed and then she sends her to do something else. The doctor has to hide from the captain and the main computer to have a moment to herself. Things get worse when another ship tries to destroy the ship, and, at the last moment, Velasquez’s ship transports to another dimension.

In the second book, "Just Passing Through", the doctor helps rescue an alien that can’t be confined in any solid place, in the new dimension where they are stuck. As always, the doctor is in trouble with the military captain, who sees her as a saboteur. She can do nothing to appease the annoying captain.

When a pretty, naïve, android nurse is sent to take care of the vegetable garden, having never seen plants before, she believes them all dead. Because of the android’s error, the crew find themselves with limited food choices and facing starvation. The alien that is familiar with this dimension tells them about a planet that trades greens, and they head toward it.

When they reach the planet, it becomes evident that the doctor’s crew has no money to exchange for the needed food and a pact is reached with the planet. They are in dire need of an engineer to get their regenerator working again. They covet Velasquez and give her gifts, with strings attached. The doctor discovers what their problem is and promises to repair it quickly. At the same time, the people from the planet come up with a plan to kidnap the engineer from the ship, and they spring their deadly trap.

Both books are interesting, fun reading. The characters are diverse and well developed, though at times they repeat their mannerisms too much, which slows down the pace of the book. Both books need some good editing to make them the great series they can become. They would be enjoyed by teens and older Sci-Fi and fantasy lovers.
