Surviving The Endgame is a thriller written by Alan L. Moss. Matt Carlyle is a veteran New York Times reporter who's been working on a story that could affect the result of the next presidential election. Matt's been collaborating with Rob Taylor, a medical student, who secretly meets with him for one last time. Matt's dying, and he's arranged for his story to be sent to a publication he won't mention to Rob. Matt urges Rob and his wife Alana to let the matter drop at this point and go into hiding, as the corporate target of their investigation is ruthless and has already assassinated the president who would not go along with their schemes. The Times staff holds a retirement party for Matt, and he is planning on going to his sister's home before entering a hospice. He never makes it there, however, and his body is found in an Atlantic City hotel, surrounded by sex toys and two ladies of the night. Rob and Alana barely make it out of their apartment and are on the run with two very talented killers on their trail.
Alan L. Moss's political thriller, Surviving The Endgame, is a literate and entertaining action and adventure novel. Moss builds a very relevant and credible plot about the high stakes involved in the market for the rare earth minerals that are crucial for the production of modern technology. He also weaves other highly relevant issues into the story such as: the ecological damage done by mining, the dangers of the nuclear industry, the domestic use of drones and the undue influence of corporate interests in the American political system. Surviving The Endgame is a fast-paced and exciting read with a great cast of characters and a fabulous plot. I'm looking forward to reading more books by Alan L. Moss and highly recommend Surviving the Endgame.
