Mother Teresa once said, “Do small things with great love,” an idea personified in Unstoppable Love! Growing the Fruit of the Spirit by Sammy J. Carter. This children’s picture book introduces young readers to two children as they discover the Fruit of the Spirit. Through rhythmic text, the pair plant a seed in their hearts and watch God’s love grow as they apply key traits. Among these are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and more. Each lesson comes with everyday examples that show how kids can practice these qualities. Overall, the story encourages mindfulness and reflection, showing that small actions can bring about positive change. How can you plant your own “seeds” of kindness and goodness in your life?
Unstoppable Love! by Sammy J. Carter is a lovely picture book that uses rhyming text to teach values about God in a fun, memorable way. I liked how each Fruit of the Spirit was connected to real-life situations that children may recognize at home or at school. That approach makes the messages feel practical instead of overly preachy. As an educator in a parochial school, I think discussions about how we can all apply concepts like love, patience, and kindness in the world would make excellent classroom topics. One classroom activity could be having students plant real or paper seeds and write or draw ways they can share God’s love with others. Sergii’s illustrations are bright and magical, drawing readers in and making each page a joy to explore. Fans of faith-based stories and books that combine moral lessons with playful rhythm will want to pick up this guide. I found it both fun and meaningful — perfect for reading aloud at home or sharing in the classroom.
