Lilly lived in Starlette Universe, a virtual world on earth that valued valor and self-worth. Lilly started eating sweets and it got worse and worse. Lilly hated doing anything wrong and Evil Eva wanted her gone. She also held a grudge against Lilly who once had hurt her and her pets. Eva was looking for revenge and one dark evening she snuck into Lilly's bedroom while she was sleeping. Lilly woke up to find sweets scattered all over her room the next morning and her bedroom became like a candy store with sugary sweets everywhere. Though Lilly was happily eating sweets, her stomach hurt, and clothes stopped fitting her. By then she had already become a candy glutton and she could not say 'No'. Lilly had become a manic eater and Evil Eva was her supplier and feeder. Slowly Lilly's health became a cause for concern and her parents wanted to know who was her candy supplier. Her friends and animals at Starlette Zoo wanted Lilly to get well. Would Lilly be able to get back to normal and how did she do it?
Sweetie Pie Lilly: 'Swe'eat'ie Pie Lilly (Lil' Lilly Series) by Kathy Johnson is a wonderful rhyming story, using adorable characters and rhymes, that conveys the beautiful message of how good always triumphs over evil. The illustrations are colorful and adorable and they make the characters real, relatable, and memorable for young readers. It is a perfect story for all those children who are addicted to eating sugary treats, showing that overeating can lead to a lot of health problems and they must avoid temptation. The story is good for parents and tutors to use for storytelling and read-aloud sessions at home and in classrooms to help kids understand the importance of not indulging too much in sugary treats.
