Tab's Terrible Third Eye by Isaac Thorne tells the gripping tale of Timothy Aaron Beard Jr. (Tab), an imaginative 9-year-old boy with a talent for art and drawing. Tab is prone to anxious thoughts and often uses his art as a coping mechanism to quell his inner angst. During a thunderstorm, he is attacked by a strange creature, leaving a painful and itchy bump on his head. This bump leads to horrific and unforeseen occurrences unfolding in Tab's life. Soon enough, Tab is harassed by Roy, an aggressive and sinister ghost with no eyes. As if this traumatic event wasn't enough, Tab sketches scenes that foreshadow real-life disasters. It is up to Tab to discover more about this devious entity tormenting his life and rid himself of this creature. But who is Roy, and what is his endgame? The shocking answers are buried in Tab's family history.
Isaac Thorne’s Tab’s Terrible Third Eye is a riveting psychological horror story that explores the anxieties and fears associated with childhood trauma. This book aptly incorporates evocative scenes, sheer terror, and paranormal elements meticulously blended into the plot, making it hard to down. Thorne effortlessly weaves themes of family secrets, grief, trauma, resilience, and mental health issues into the narrative, resulting in an unforgettable and unique tale. Tab's character is one of a kind. His character development is strikingly realistic and nuanced, perfectly encapsulating the emotional vulnerabilities of a young boy striving to come to terms with the terrifying, colossal events unfolding before his very eyes. His thoughts and emotions are spot on and help draw readers further into his spine-chilling experiences. I recommend this fascinating novel to psychological horror fans, particularly those who enjoy thought-provoking, supernatural stories that explore the intricacies of childhood experiences and trauma.
