Tales of a Rookie Rancher Volume 2 by Robert B. Hamilton is an interesting book about the experiences of the author living on a farm with his family. He is content with cleaning the stalls, spreading the manure in the garden, and giving the evening's feed and water to the horses. The book has some beautiful stories about animals that will touch your heart and bring a smile to your lips.
It gives you a peek into life on a farm with animals. Whether it is Panda the German shepherd and the other dogs in the kennels, or the horses and the donkeys, they all contribute to the liveliness and mirth of the tale. The author's enjoyment of the company of animals and nature is felt right through the book. It is a very simple story and will make you aware of the small, beautiful moments of life which we miss due to the hectic pace of city life. Animals bring joy to the lives of many people and they have their own quirks and behaviors which are endearing.
The author, who was the senior manager of an international company, cannot believe the small pleasures he got by living on a ranch, feeling close to and at one with nature. These are the small things we tend to overlook in our daily lives. I found this book beautiful and very interesting.
