Temptation Trials Rebellion by B. Truly takes you into a world where the Regime controls everything—even who you can marry. If you don’t go along with their matchmaking system, the only way out is to compete in the Temptation Trials. It’s a reality show where contestants face off in challenges meant to test their loyalty, using seduction as the ultimate tool. Catalina and Sahara enter the competition with their own hidden reasons, but they quickly realize the game is rigged. What starts as a way to find love turns into a dangerous fight for their lives as they try to survive in a world that’s all about taking away their freedom.
B. Truly does an amazing job of mixing dystopian tension with romance. The world she creates feels eerie and real, where the Regime uses the Trials to control people through entertainment. The plot twists keep you hooked, and the characters are believable as they struggle with tough choices. You become invested in their journeys, especially during a heart-wrenching moment that shows just how far they’ll go for their freedom. It’s more than just a love story—it’s about fighting for the right to make your own choices, no matter what the system throws at you.
The narrators, Des M. Astor and William A. Cline, bring the whole story to life with their performances. They each have their own way of making the characters stand out, and they nail the emotional moments. Astor is perfect at showing Catalina’s internal struggles, and Cline does an awesome job with the male characters, making them feel realistic and not like clichés. Their delivery keeps the tension high, even when things slow down for some world-building or explanation. Overall, this story is engaging and makes Temptation Trials Rebellion an addictive audiobook. Highly recommended.
