Spirits in Plain Sight is a book for anyone who loves nature for the childlike awe and wonder it evokes in all of us. Joy M. Lundstrom puts her creative soul on display here through a series of beautiful photographs inspired by nature and life. These photographs are a celebration of imagination and creativity. From the snow-covered woods of Burlington, Wisconsin, to the suburbs and highways of Volo, Illinois, you will discover a wide range of terrain and topography in this collection. Joy has also taken some mesmerizing photos of National Parks, rivers, rocks, trees, shorelines, felled branches, forests, and more. The places include different parts of Wisconsin, Illinois, Tennessee, Mississippi, Missouri, and Florida. Places from Wisconsin, with its diverse terrain, feature most prominently in this collection.

Art provides people an escape from the rigors of reality, and this is exactly what Spirits in Plain Sight is all about. This book celebrates nature amidst civilization. Aside from Joy M. Lundstrom's talent for eye-pleasing photography, I was also impressed by her choice of places featured. As you turn the pages, you can't help but feel just like a child who is exploring new regions in small towns full of rivers, lakes, woods, and suburbs. For me, these photographs truly encapsulate the beauty of America. Joy's ability to find something special in the mundane through her photos is extraordinary. I thoroughly enjoyed going through the pages of this book, pausing at each one to make sure I absorbed it all. All in all, photography enthusiasts are in for a treat.
