The Arc by Angelina Heart with Marisa Morin is a romance, suspense, and spiritual edutainment book that would appeal most to a mixed audience of young adults and adults who wish to learn how to influence what happens to Earth without violence or domination through a story-telling format. Kat Whitcomb’s life is forever altered when her father ends up dead after claiming to have found the real Arc of the Covenant. The death of her father leads to Kat taking up his mantle and setting out to locate and protect it. Yet, an archeology quest quickly becomes a spiritual journey when it is discovered that an equivalent Arc is encoded within the human heart. Will Kat and her team be able to learn what they must do to protect the Arc or will the prophecy of the final battle between good and evil come to pass?

The Arc by Angelina Heart with Marisa Morin may be a fiction story, but it truly is an edutainment book as well as it served to not only entertain, but also to provide educational information on the spirit. I liked how the book was organized into five main sections--genesis, catalyst, secrets, avatar, and potential--as it helped me to stay on track while I was reading and the section changes provided good break points. Kat ended up being my favorite character and I felt like I was journeying alongside her in spirit as she sought to finish her father’s work. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and upon finishing it, I felt that I had gained invaluable knowledge on myself and the world around me.
