The Band of Moonlit Waters (Spero’s Legacy) is an action-packed sci-fi novel by Brad Bussie. Devoid of memories and having no clue who he is, Commander Tyler Ryan Tor wakes up from cryosleep on an alien planet. After being rescued by the Balans - a nomadic people of the world Acrea - Tyler is determined to regain his lost memory. With two Balans, Samson and Beresh, he embarks on a dangerous journey to Castle Forgotten in Moonlit Valley. They find themselves hunted by the servants of the Shade. Among them is the half-giant Roarc and Shade's beautiful and mysterious companion, Lady Dark, who has an agenda of her own. With an impending attack on Castle Forgotten, can Tyler protect his friends and will he get the answers that he seeks?

A fast-paced narrative steeped in mystery, action, and lore makes The Band of Moonlit Waters an enticing read for science fiction aficionados. Brad Bussie builds a sprawling world full of distinct races, species, and domains, and infuses a potent mix of science and magic into the story to keep your eyes glued to the pages until the end. Acrea feels like a lived-in and fleshed-out world that could be real. The characters are layered, with complex motives and inner conflicts that make them compelling to read. Tyler's search for self-discovery seems to be the prime focus of the story, but multiple sub-plots are running in the background. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to sci-fi lovers.
