Kelly's love of books began at a very young age. Learning to read before the age of three, her teachers often asked her to read aloud to the class. However, after cutting off her bangs with a pair of green safety scissors, her preschool fame ended. Banished to the finger-painting table, it became evident that Kelly did not inherit painting skills from her mother, Lynn. Another career was in order.
Decades later (and now much taller), she returned to the classroom as a Montessori Children's House Directress and later, a creative writing teacher for 9-12 year-olds. Co-founder of Pink Party Dress Productions, Kelly has a degree in Writing and Literature from The New School in NYC.
Kelly lives in Cleveland, Ohio, where she runs creative writing workshops for children of all ages. She enjoys photography and dreams of living in a magical adventure factory just like Granny Rosie's.

The Birthday Triplets: Granny Rosie's Amazing Magical Day by Kelly Tooman is a delightful and endearing story for children that will take them on an adventure trip. Granny Rosie is sad because she is alone for her birthday. She decides to create a birthday party adventure for herself and what follows is a magical event when birthday triplets Candi, Cookie and Coco dance their way into her life. Granny Rosie's life is changed forever after that. The book will take readers on a magical trip with colors, sights and sounds and the triplets who spin magic into Granny Rosie's life. It is a story filled with imagination and whimsy and a beautiful message given by the triplets.
It is a typical girly kind of story with a birthday party, cookies and colorful illustrations. Kids will definitely enjoy Granny Rosie's birthday party. It is a story with a lot of energy and cheer, though it starts off with Granny Rosie feeling sad. The illustrations are excellent and they take the story and the characters to another dimension. It helps kids to dream, imagine and think. It makes an excellent bedtime story book with its colorful illustrations and cheerful characters. It is a good story book that can be used for story telling sessions in classrooms and libraries.
The highlight of this beautiful story is that it conveys messages of kindness, empathy and bravery in a subtle way. The verses by the triplets enhance the excitement in the story.
