The Caterer's Husband by Molly Taggart tells the story of Aaron Mitchell, a high school soccer coach who is having trouble dealing with his wife’s new career. They have had a comfortable, traditional marriage up to the point when she decides to run a catering business. This puts Aaron face to face with changes he never thought will occur in their marriage, and with questions about his wife, himself, and his power to support her in her now successful business. When he meets a man at one of the parties his wife is catering, he is surprised to discover how much a friendship can help you in certain moments of your life. The friendship he develops not only helps him relieve stress and have some time to himself, but it also helps him view his marriage and his wife’s new business from a different perspective.
Modern society has very little to offer in traditional values since the quest for professional success has made many people, men and women alike, forget about the importance of their relationships and focus more on their careers. In this book, Molly Taggart tackles well-known issues such as traditional values in marriage, unconditional love, people’s need for friendship, and the development of self, and she does it with a lot of humor and style. The Caterer’s Husband is a well written book that any reader will enjoy and, most of all, it is a life lesson, not only for married people, but also for everyone that has experienced love and friendship at least once in their lifetime.
