Author Biography

Andrew Guile is a husband to Giselle and a father to three children, Emma, Daniel and Charlie. He lives in Hertfordshire, England.

The antics of Skinny Finny and Super Spy Wobblebottom have entertained Andrew's children for many years. With a long held desire to write and tell stories, it was only a matter of time before he committed them to paper. This tale is, hopefully, the first of many. They are designed to either be read by children of 7-12 years old or read to children by parents.

Skinny Finny and Super Spy Wobblebottom have made it possible for Andrew and his children to end each day with a sense of wonder and the odd chuckle. Andrew chose to publish the stories in the hope that they can do the same for others.

The Crazy Christmas Caper by Andrew C.F. Guile is set against the backdrop of Christmas. Skinny Finny and his twin, Tubby, wake up on Christmas Day to find out that their parents have gone missing. Their Christmas has been ruined and they set out in search of Mum and Dad. The world famous MI5 agent Super Spy Wobblebottom comes to their aid. Will Skinny Finny and Tubby be able to find their parents? Will Super Spy Wobblebottom be of any help in this search?

The story is a blend of adventure and humor and children from the ages of 7-14 will enjoy this story. The preparations for Christmas and the disappointment and shock on Christmas morning takes the story to another dimension. Skinny Finny and Tubby are shattered by the disappearance of their parents. They have no gifts and goodies on Christmas Day and both of them are sad.

The book also has a fantasy element to it. Readers encounter different people and places while reading the story - Father Christmas, the Queen, icebergs, the Arctic Ocean, a submarine etc. to make it more thrilling and adventurous. The story has some light moments, too. The illustrations are simple yet they give the characters an identity and life. There is a feeling of wonder, excitement, and laughter while reading this story. There is a suspense angle due to the disappearance of Mr. and Mrs. Finny. The story also has a moral for young children to understand. On the whole, the book has all the ingredients of a super story for children.
