A religious sect established to protect humanity from an ancient demonic order recruits two police detectives to help save humankind in the bloodcurdling horror novel, The Devil Made Me Do It (Rex Holland Book 1) by C. B. Collins. Rex Holland and his partner Jesse are called to a grisly murder scene where the killer commits suicide after removing his victim's eyes and placing them in his own eye sockets. When Rex arrived, the murderer was wearing a wooden mask, but when the forensics team had finished, the mask and the killer's eyeballs are missing. Later, another murder/suicide is committed, and once again, the victim's eyes replace the killer's.
Because the murderers kill themselves, the police departments consider the cases closed. However, Rex and Jesse don't agree and aren't ready to stop investigating. Seeing a suspicious-looking man at one of the crime scenes, Rex and Jesse confront and question him. Introducing himself as Gabriel, the man explains how an ancient sect pre-dating creation is waging war against God. Furthermore, Gabriel informs them that Jesus wants Rex and Jesse to assist the Order of the Light in preventing the Apocalypse and the destruction of humankind. Skeptical, the two homicide detectives are unsure what to think and how to proceed. Is the world really in danger? Or is Gabriel an eccentric religious fanatic?
The first in a series, The Devil Made Me Do It (Rex Holland Book 1) by C. B. Collins is a chilling horror story with Christian and biblical doctrine woven into the plotline. Sensational and electrifying, this breathtaking novel includes graphic bloody murder scenes and fast-paced action embroidered within a Christian perspective. It will entertain and thrill everyone who enjoys spine-tingling, violent, and gory tales depicting the millennia-old ongoing battle between God and His adversaries, the devil and his demons.
