Dani’s parents were murdered by a burglar trying to rob their pharmacy. Dani, an investigative journalist, decided to lend a hand to the local police department, where her uncle is the chief of police, in finding the culprit. Trying to uncover the mystery of the death of the chief’s sister and her husband, Detective Max Fabiani poses as a stripper in Club Dionysus. In their own ways, both are trying to solve the crime but they didn’t expect their connection to be powerful. Dani, afraid of someone controlling her life, tries to fight her feelings. Will Max fight for Dani or will he just give it all up in The Dionysus Connection (Perception) by Liz Cowan.
The Dionysus Connection is an intense and exciting novel without being too racy. Dani was a little immature at times but she’s still likable and when she’s with Max, she’s just cute. Max is an alpha male with a soft spot for Dani. Together they are a lovable couple. They faced many obstacles in the book including solving the murder of Dani’s parents. Scenes were written well with no overly gruesome details. I wanted more information about the intentions and motives of the bad guy but I guess what was said was sufficient. The Dionysus Connection (Perception) by Liz Cowan is the first book in what seems to be a promising series. The next book will be about P.J. and Thorn who were interesting characters mentioned in this book, so I’m excited to read about them again.
