The Escape of Princess Madeline by Kirstin Pulioff is an enthralling adventure story that will leave readers captivated and amused. Princess Madeline celebrates her 16th birthday knowing the inevitable. Her future has already been mapped out. It is going to be boring, a life of royalty and then getting married to a knight. The story takes a turn when the princess is kidnapped by a group of bandits. There she finds her freedom and love.
The story is captivating. It is an absolute fantasy story where the characters, plot, sub plots, twists and turns are woven intricately and skillfully and they take you on an adventure trip with all the magical characters. The story is fast paced. The princess portrayed here is not a dumb princess but a girl who dares to dream. She is strong willed and wishes to do more than just be a princess. Madeline's abduction and her journey is also a journey away from her cocooned existence where she emerges to be self-sufficient and responsible for her actions and behavior.
The Escape of Princess Madeline is not only an adventure story; it is also a thought provoking book which leaves the reader with many thought provoking lessons and moments. The underlying message is very subtle and the author's writing skill should be appreciated for that. All supporting characters do full justice in making the story fast paced and captivating. An enthralling and magical fairy tale with lots of action and adventure.
