The Fairy's Bubble Wand is an illustrated children’s story by Teddy O’Malley. Fay is a young student fairy who is trying hard to graduate from Fairy School, but ultimately fails because she doesn’t believe in herself. In a different world, Vidaya and Indira are sisters having a lot of fun with their bubble kit, which Indira had bought as a gift for Vidaya. The tiny ring on the end of a wand makes blowing bubbles an easy task for the girls. After saying out loud that she believes in magic, Vidaya waves her bubble wand and is transported into Fay’s world, where Fay had just discovered that her father, the King himself, is missing. Determined to find her father, Fay sets off alone on a rescue mission to prove to everyone, including herself, that she is capable of performing fairy magic. Along the way, Fay meets Vidaya and Sasha (a butterfly dog). Together, they make their way through many scary places and risk their lives to try to save the King. With each challenge, Fay needs to believe in herself in order to save her friends.

I found The Fairy’s Bubble Wand to be an enchanting tale, showing children that if they believe in themselves, they can accomplish anything. Teddy O’Malley has brought this message home perfectly, while also bringing back happy memories of my own childhood with a bubble wand. This tale is one of fear, hope, friendship and strength, and also shows that no matter how big an obstacle you face, if you believe that you can achieve the desired outcome, you will get there in the end. I recommend this book to children in the 2-7 age group, as well as all those adults who once had bubble wands of their very own.
