The Holy Ghost is Like a Blanket by Annalisa Hall introduces children to the Holy Ghost with simple, everyday comparisons. The book takes objects children know, like a blanket, a dove, the wind, a flashlight, or even a rose, and uses them to help kids imagine what the Holy Ghost is like. Children get to understand His role in their lives. Warmth, comfort, protection, and love will make sense because they’re things children already feel. The Holy Ghost is like a hug that wraps you up, or a book that gently teaches you something new each day. Every page lets you discover the Holy Ghost and helps you connect with Him.
The Holy Ghost is Like a Blanket is a wonderful picture book that introduces young readers to the Holy Ghost and teaches them His importance in their lives. The book draws lessons from Latter-day Saint (LDS) scriptures and songs. Although it is for children, adults can also appreciate it if they want to learn about the Holy Ghost's comforting and guiding influence. It can also provide inspiration and peace, and remind you of our Heavenly Father's love. This book will build your faith. The pages are full of bright, lively illustrations by Corey Egber that follow a young, curious girl through all sorts of everyday adventures—camping, reading, getting new glasses, or just staring up at the stars. Annalisa Hall blends storytelling and teaching so naturally that learning about the Holy Ghost feels like an adventure of its own. I enjoyed this book, and I think it is a good choice for anyone who wishes to nurture their children’s faith and build their understanding of the Holy Ghost.
