Growing political intrigue, raging emotions, and uncertain relationships plague Michael Bennit and his staff as The Michael Bennit Series continues in Book 3, The iSpeaker, by Mikael Carlson. Recovering from an assassination attempt, Michael, Chelsea and the rest of the staff work hard to unite the new iCongressmen before the beginning of the new session of Congress. Kylie, Michael’s girlfriend, is convinced James Reed, the powerful lobbyist, is behind the shooting but can’t put the clues together to prove it. As their relationship is strained, Michael and Kylie pursue separate paths that will hopefully converge again. From near isolation to a position of power within the new Congress, Michael strives to achieve the change in politics he has been advocating, but there are still hidden factors working against his efforts as well as a new President who intends to limit the power of the legislative branch. In a town where trust is all but nonexistent, can Michael really have any faith in those around him?

The American public is fed up with politics and is growing increasingly frustrated with the lack of positive action from the House and Senate. Mikael Carlson taps into that feeling as his series about Michael Bennit continues in Book 3, The iSpeaker. Mikael Carlson provides us with a hero we not only appreciate in the books, but one who also speaks to our desires for a real life politician willing to stand up to the status quo in Washington. Not only are these books entertaining and engrossing, they also offer an easy to understand look into politics – historically and in present reality. Well worth reading for simple enjoyment, the added bonus is the food for thought The iSpeaker provides.
