The Lady and the Hound: Divination by A.M. Nixon is the first book in the Angels and Deities series. Mary is on her own after her husband leaves her for another woman. She thought her life was over until she gets a premonition of a cottage and is given a second chance. She moves to a new place, into a new home, and meets a lawyer who helps her get her three pets back from her ex. Everything is looking up for her until chaos ensues after a natural disaster leaves her stranded with the only option to join a military camp for safety but this is where the real nightmare begins. At first, this seems like the ideal place to be, but then Mary discovers horrific things happening to all the women and old folk staying there. These elements take the story to horrific heights with some grotesque situations and a terrifying danger which forces Mary to do whatever it takes to survive. The story continues forward, bringing Mary into an arc of destiny and magic which weaves fantasy and evil spirits into the story.
As she fights back against the Major in charge and stands up for her own survival, Mary uncovers a shocking secret about herself that leads her on a path to angels and deities where she discovers the role she plays in helping the world. These elements give a fantasy tone to the story, which blends into the horror elements by providing hope and a savior to make the world a better place. The natural disaster gives the story a dystopian tone in which things quickly descend into chaos where everyone is controlled and the camp becomes a terrifying environment. A.M. Nixon brings to life the unique story of The Lady and the Hound by blending elements of horror, fantasy, mythology and disaster with the inclusion of action-packed moments and hope. The Lady and the Hound: Divination is the ideal story for those who enjoy horror, strong female protagonists, and thrilling action.
