The Land of Hearts is a heartwarming story by Antwinette Scott. It tells the tale of two friends, Wise-Heart and Sick-Heart, who embark on a quest to meet the King of Hearts, who resides in the Great City. The two friends seek healing and wholeness. On their journey, they encounter new companions who also need the king's help, such as Broken-Heart and Weeping-Heart. Together, they make their way to the city's gate. However, their path is blocked by Naughty-Heart and his wicked friends, who try to stop them. Just as they are about to give up and turn back, Brave-Heart and his team come to their aid. Despite their efforts, Naughty-Heart and his team still refuse to let them pass. Will Wise-Heart and his friends ever meet the King of Hearts?
The Land of Hearts is a captivating story with an amazing cast of characters and a profound message about healing and never giving up. Antwinette Scott has crafted a creative story that children can easily relate to and understand. The moment Wise-Heart and his friend ran into Naughty-Heart and his gang reminded me of kids running into their bullies on the school playground. Such similarities make the book engaging and imaginative. Children will enjoy the beautiful illustrations that complement the story and perfectly depict the cute characters. Each heart is distinct in color and with attire that matches its name. I loved these details and the lush greenery that gave the book a warm feel. I recommend The Land of Hearts to anyone who loves stories about healing and determination. It is a must-read for both children and adults.
