in The Lonely Ghost, Gitte Tamar tells the story of a little ghost who, feeling different from the moment he became one, finds it difficult to get close to other children. This feeling of sadness led him to prefer being alone by his tombstone. One night, a group of children dressed as pumpkins, vampires, and witches come to the cemetery to play and tell stories. Although the lonely ghost enjoyed watching the children interact, his shyness kept him away and prevented him from going with them. The children explain to him about Halloween and the importance of friendship when they find him. The Lonely Ghost offers young readers a valuable perspective on understanding and acceptance.
The Lonely Ghost will help children overcome shyness by showing them the rewards of overcoming their fears. Gitte Tamar has a wonderful writing style, with short and rhythmic sentences that make for a fun reading. I loved the plot for its ability to provide strong emotional support for young readers. It addresses the anxiety and thoughts associated with shyness when making friends, encouraging empathy and understanding and fostering solidarity with each other. The characters are charming and represent harmony without discrimination. The lonely ghost is a character who shows courage by facing his fears despite insecurity. This aspect is useful because it allows children to identify with the character and learn to overcome their own obstacles. In addition, the images are colorful with dark but pleasant tones, emphasizing emotions. The Lonely Ghost shows how much fun it is to make friends.
