The Long Road to Loving Mitchell is a contemporary romance novel by Alicia Hope. Libby Barnes has her hands full after taking over the family farm in rural south-western Australia from her parents, who moved to Perth due to her mother's recurring health issues. Apart from her childhood friend, MJ, Libby has no choice but to rely on herself. That is, until she meets Callum (Cal), during an endurance riding national competition. Libby and Cal soon hit it off and start living together, much to the chagrin of her parents, who prefer her with MJ. But slowly, she realizes that Cal may not be the person she thought he was. Moreover, vandals start attacking local farm animals, leaving her much to deal with. Can Libby manage the farm? Will she ever find true love?
Author Alicia Hope tells an absorbing tale of a tenacious young woman trying to navigate rural farm life while searching for the love of her life. Fans of Nicholas Sparks will find much to love about The Long Road to Loving Mitchell. With a charming and likable protagonist and an engaging plot, the narrative sets its hooks on you from the first page and refuses to let go until the end. The characters are grounded with inner conflicts brewing inside them that make them thoroughly compelling to read. I particularly enjoyed the dynamic between Libby and MJ. If you love a well-written romance novel, don't miss out on The Long Road to Loving Mitchell.
