In R.K. Jack's The Mist from Beyond, Dorothy and her fellow sorority members at Arizona State University decided to conduct a Wiccan-style ritual to summon the Damned on a Saturday evening. They all thought it would simply be an innocent initiation for their newest sister, Amanda Collins. The ritual was successful, and an eerie mist began to rise from the ground around them. Laura has participated in the initiation of the new pledge, so her mother asked Father Leighe to perform an exorcism on her; however, since it was a supernatural being, the exorcism proved ineffective. Lev was a member of the Occult Strike Team dedicated to tackling supernatural threats and played an essential role in their efforts. Numerous other supernatural events will unfold until the Occult Strike Team can determine the source of the disturbances and take measures to stop them.
The Mist from Beyond: The Occult Strike Team Series, Book Two by R.K. Jack was an exhilarating journey filled with danger, intrigue, and the supernatural. The pace was swift, and the action kicked off right from the first page, maintaining its momentum throughout. Several distinct storylines converged seamlessly. The chapters alternated between the various subplots without diminishing the impact of the others. The events were vividly described, allowing me to immerse myself in the unfolding encounters with the supernatural being. The characters were well developed, each with a captivating backstory. The paranormal creature was portrayed vividly, making it easy for me to visualize the character. The writing was superb, and the tension kept me on the edge of my seat, flipping through the pages as quickly as possible. This distinctive story grabbed my attention from start to finish, and I found great pleasure in reading it.
