The Multitude of Personality Made Simple by A.A. Hadi White describes personalities and their traits by giving an overview of the positive and unseemly qualities of each personality type, with references listing the source from where the data was taken. Following the overview, examples from history and their impact on those around them are discussed. Relevant and sometimes amusing pictures accompany the text, illustrating the advantages and difficulties of certain personality types.
Readers may learn more than they expected from A.A. Hadi White’s book. The author has detailed the positive and discouraging aspects of certain types of personalities but he has used historical, biblical, and present-day figures to illustrate his points, so history and pop culture may also be learned. Detailed examples of the personalities of notable figures such as Cao Cao, Alexander the Great, and Michael Jordan are used as points of reference. The visual interpretations are a nice break from the material as they clarify certain personalities or feelings and sometimes offer a comical element. Some readers may recognize themselves or people they know as they begin to understand the personality types discussed.
The personality assessment at the end can lead to unexpected results, and the reader may score it based on themselves or the observations they make about other people. The Multitude of Personality Made Simple would be a great book for psychology courses and a conversation starter at friendly gatherings and book clubs. It would also be an interesting and informative addition to a personal bookshelf or library.
