The Other Side of the Story by Daphine Priscilla Brown-Jack is an inspirational, heartfelt story of a woman's battle during a critical time in her family's life. The author's desire to share such a story is humbling. It takes courage to share personal things with the world. Even more so when those things involve loved ones. The author shares the emotional journey of when her husband was falsely accused of a crime. Throughout the book, readers will become enlightened and educated as the author shares tidbits of the judicial system. She journeys from faith to faith as one who has seen their share of troubles. Whenever someone is going through a time of trial, it can make them question their existence and faith.

The author's perseverance through adversity shows the measure of strength within her. Within her story, she points out a nugget of wisdom. "It is very important to never give up on God. Trial and tribulation will come, but it is necessary to endure to the end."

This is so true. Many times we are faced with trying times, when the first response is to throw in the towel or retreat. The author could've easily thrown in the towel, but an innate ability to succeed propelled her on. Her love and faith collided and provided a victory. She is a testimony of faith and perseverance. Her story is of how she dealt with the devastation that entangled her family for years of emotional suffering. We must understand that victory is sometimes to move from one place mentally to another. Now, being on this side of the story, I'm sure the author has a different perspective on life. That alone is victory.
