"The Plea for Righteousness" is backed by great amounts of knowledge and research that the authors document well and they advise the reader to read this book in its entirety. The authors want African-Americans to understand that they are the original Israelites and that this is a heritage that must be claimed. Most of the customs taught as "traditional" African cultural traits can be found in the first five books of the Bible. African-American slaves were brought to the United States with the oldest from of Judaism known to man and have lived on what the authors call "a lonely island of poverty suffered from generations of slavery, bondage, segregation and discrimination. Added to the 1964 Civil Rights Act should be a right for the African-American's restoration to their true culture and heritage. As a good part of this restoration, African-Americans will know that to understand the Bible, a reader must understand the culture and thought processes that began with them long, long ago as the original children of Israel.

"Plea for Righteousness" is well-written and well-edited although it is over 900 pages long. To reach African-Americans who need to hear the authors' words, this book should be put into the listening form of CD's or available as an ebook so that readers can read and absorb the authors' words. "Plea for Righteousness" is radical to a degree as it challenges Western religion and documents its belief that blacks were the original Hebrews. It challenges celebrated holidays and opposes Catholic Church practices. But authors Scott and Marquette Frazier are knowledgeable writers and the thoughts they put forward cannot be disputed easily.
