The Princes of the Abyss by George Jankovic is an epic YA fantasy and the second installment of The Lords of Dimensions series. Alex, a thirteen-year-old elemental warrior, and his friends, Lin, Whiz, and Cleo, are still recuperating from their battle against the Man with No Face, Moloch, when they discover Moloch's plan to attack the Alamon. Moloch seeks to conquer the world, beginning with the subjugation of the Alamon in their city of Falnis, by unleashing the Infernal Hordes on them through the Infernal Gates. Alex and his friends must now undertake a treacherous quest to close the Gates. As their journey unfolds, Alex ascends to the throne of the ancient alien race of Velas, while Lin grapples with haunting visions foreshadowing Alex's death. Can our heroes stand firm against the might of the Princes of the Abyss and their Legionnaires?
The Princes of the Abyss is as epic as epic fantasy gets. Suitable for both teens and young adults, this engrossing novel continues to immerse readers deeper into the world created by author George Jankovic in The Lords of Dimensions series. In this book, our beloved teenage heroes face newer and darker challenges while undergoing layers of character development that push them closer to their fullest potential. What I loved most about this book, apart from the characters, is the pacing. Almost every chapter feels action-packed and filled with lore about the world. I also enjoyed the growing relationship dynamics between Alex, Cleo, Lin, and Whiz (Ceasar). It's a great fantasy for young adult readers. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't recommend it highly enough.
