The Sweetwood Series by Danielle Hines combines all three books in the series. In the first book, Sweetwood Secret, a cryptic text from her brother brings Holly Blake back to her hometown, Blairsville. A desperate search for her brother ignites an old flame, Sheriff Max Cooper, and uncovers a buried secret. Sweetwood Scandal delves into the Sweetwood family. Jacob’s journey to New Zealand to hunt for his ex-girlfriend, Ava Rose, who had absconded with thousands of dollars and a family heirloom exposes a scandal that may be the downfall of the Sweetwood empire. He finds solace with Nancy Cooper, the pretty bar owner. When her aunt suddenly demands a divorce and no longer wishes to speak to her husband, Zena’s uncle needs her to try to salvage the situation. And no matter how hot and charming Adora’s lawyer may be, Zena is determined to hate him. But then, their missions seem to intertwine and sparks fly in Sweetwood Christmas.
Danielle Hines' The Sweetwood Series is a heady mix of suspense and romance, delivering a dazzlingly fast-paced narrative. Set in a small town with intertwining characters and stories, it captures the essence of small-town gossip, romance, and intrigue. It’s best to read the books in sequence to avoid spoilers. My favorite couple is Aunt Adora and Uncle Octavius; their true love is charming and symbolizes a refuge for Zena, a contrast to her selfish parents. A charming blend of romance tropes from second-chance romance to a lighthearted Christmas rom-com, this book will make you smile. Fans of Insta-love will appreciate this contemporary romance series that’s engaging and easy to read.
