Life isn’t always easy and when you have secrets, even from your closest friends, it can be even more difficult. For the seven women of The Two Bits Club, life isn’t what it appears from the outside. These women have suffered in life and some continue to do so. Some of them are pushed to extremes and some will find love and friendship in unexpected times. There’s more to their lives than meets the eye, just as there’s more to Mildred, Marion, Maude, Ceceile, Emelda, Lois and Pam as well. You’ll find yourself drawn into the lives of each of these women in The Two Bits Club by J.J. Haile.
I was intrigued from the start by this book. Ceceile drew me in and I found myself curious as to what was going to happen in her life. As I read more, I came to be drawn in about Emelda, Mildred and the others as well, though I have to admit Ceceile and Emelda were probably my favorites. I liked the way this book provides sections from several different points of view so you always know what’s going on with different characters. It’s easy to really immerse yourself in each character’s life and their story. The characters were easy to relate to and had flaws that simply made them seem human. I liked also that their lives weren’t perfect and they had problems, just like normal women and families would have. The Two Bits Club by J.J. Haile is definitely a book for all readers.
